All the curfews governors have set in their states as protests rage on, and how long you should expect them to last

• Curfews have been put in place in cities across the US as protests over the death of George Floyd sweep the country.
• Some state governors have stepped in to mandate curfews in certain areas.
• In Minnesota, where Floyd died, Gov. Tim Walz announced a two-day curfew for Minneapolis and St. Paul from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m on May 29. On May 31, he extended the curfew one more day. On June 1, he further extended the curfew to June 3 and modified the hours from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m.
• In New York, Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced a curfew for New York City on Monday from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. The mayor then extended it on Tuesday to start at 8 p.m. through the end of the week.
• The governor of Arizona implemented a statewide curfew from May 31 to June 8.

As tens of thousands of protesters continue to take to the streets over the death of George Floyd, a black man who struggled to breathe after a white police officer pinned him on the ground in Minnesota last week, curfews have been put in place in at least 40 US cities since Friday, May 29, per CNN.

In some states, such as New York and Minnesota, the governors have stepped in to mandate curfews for certain areas.

Here's a running list of the states where governors have implemented curfews.

Arizona

• Governor: Doug Ducey
• Date curfew set: Sunday, May 31
• Curfew time: 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
• Where the curfew applies: Statewide
• Date the curfew lifts: June 8 at 5 a.m.

Minnesota

• Governor: Tim Walz
• Date curfew set: Friday, May 29
• Curfew time: 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.
• Where the curfew applies: Minneapolis and St. Paul
• Extended on May 31
• Modified and extended on June 1 to 10 p.m. to 4 a.m.
• Date the curfew lifts: June 3

New York

• Governor: Andrew Cuomo
• Date curfew set: Monday, June 1
• Curfew time: 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. 
  • Modified and extended by NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio on June 2 from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.

• Date the curfew lifts: June 7 at 5 a.m.

Virginia

• Governor: Ralph Northam
• Date curfew set: Sunday, May 31, for Richmond, and Monday, June 1, for Virginia Beach
• Where the curfew applies: Richmond and Virginia Beach
• Curfew time: 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.
• Date the curfew lifts: June 4 at 6 a.m.
