A crane has collapsed in the lower Manhattan neighborhood of TriBeCa, NBC New York reported.
One person was killed and at least two were seriously injured in the collapse, a spokesman for the New York City Fire Department told Reuters.
The collapse reportedly occurred at about 8:25 a.m. at the corner of Worth Street and West Broadway in lower Manhattan.
At least 25 police units and more than 100 firefighters are on the scene, according to The Wall Street Journal. The collapsed crane appears to stretch the length of a city block.
